Performs filing and other clerical duties, such as answering phones and taking refill and medical supply orders. May operate the cash register according to department policies and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Knowledge, and Skills Must be 18 years of age with high school diploma. Strong background in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics sufficient to understand pharmaceutical terminology. Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounding. Must be detailed oriented, have the ability to make precise measurement. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow and perform well under pressure. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills in responding to internal and external customers displaying a pleasant, respectful demeanor. REQUIRED LENGTH AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum six months related experience or successful completion of Pharmacy Technician Program may substitute for the required work experience. Familiarity with computers sufficient to perform data entry functions of the position. Ability to use standard cash register, including the preparation of daily reconciliations.
