The North Shore-LIJ Health System is currently in the early stages of a multi-year, phased rollout of an inpatient Electronic Medical Record. The Associate Chief Medical Information Officer will report to the Chief Medical Information Officer and will be responsible for overseeing the clinical aspects of designing and implementing the EMR. In that capacity, s/he will interact with the clinicians and the clinical leadership of the individual hospitals as well as the health system to assure that the system meets the needs of clinicians, as well as supports quality and patient safety initiatives. The Associate Chief Medical Information Officer will work closely with the Quality Management department to support the development of evidence-based order sets, documentation tools, and clinical decision support. Additionally, this position will work closely with clinicians involved in the implementation of other clinical systems (e.g. office-based EMRs, Obstetric documentation system, and etc.) to assure full interoperability and data sharing between care environments.
