POSITION DESCRIPTION: SR. VICE PRESIDENT RESEARCH &amp; DEVELOPMENT<br/><br/>LOCATION: Portage, IN<br/><br/>COMPANY<br/> <br/><br/>Our client, MonoSol Rx, is a leading private equity backed drug delivery company, specializing in the development and commercialization of thin film prescription drug products. Its technology is designed to benefit patients by improving the efficacy, convenience, and compliance of new and currently marketed drugs. The Companyâ??s leadership position in thin film drug delivery is supported by strong intellectual property, a portfolio of commercialized over-the-counter (OTC) drug products, and a development pipeline of prescription formulations. <br/><br/>Our client is currently developing thin film formulations with its pharmaceutical partners and through self-funded initiatives. The development programs are focused on approved drugs with expired or soon-to-be expired patents, thereby extending patent life and protecting drug revenues. The Company intends to grow its leadership position in thin film drug delivery through the continued development of its technology, manufacturing capabilities, strategic partnerships and intellectual property portfolio.<br/><br/>The Companyâ??s current business plan is fully funded and will result in profitability on a monthly basis in late 2009 and on an annual basis for 2010 and beyond.<br/><br/>Given the prospects for future success in R&amp;D, we seek to attract a world class SVP to lead this critical function of the enterprise. <br/><br/>POSITION DECRIPTION<br/><br/>As a member of the senior leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO, the SVP of R&amp;D will lead and manage an established team of drug development professionals responsible for the continued development and regulatory approval of thin film drug products containing a wide range of therapeutic compounds. <br/><br/><br/> <br/>QUALIFICATIONS <br/><br/>We seek an experienced pharmaceutical R&amp;D leader from the drug development side of the pharmaceutical Industry. This individual will possess a strong track record of success earned at one of the larger pharmaceutical entities before transitioning to a more entrepreneurial environment. We seek a leader who possesses a career history of deliverables in the form of commercially launched pharmaceutical products in both the U.S. and ROW. <br/><br/>Given the more entrepreneurial nature of the enterprise, we seek a SVP who is strategic yet hands on in management style and one who can â??do as well as delegate.â?? <br/><br/> <br/><br/>COMPENSATION<br/><br/>Given the importance of this role to the future success of the enterprise, our client is prepared to offer a competitive cash compensation package comprised of base salary, incentive compensation, and an array of other benefits.
